In fact, comScore Inc. reports that US Internet users viewed 14.3 billion (that a B for billion!) online videos in December, 2008 alone. The average duration of each video watched was 3.2 minutes and Nielson Online reported that 65% of the online videos were watched between 9am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Hmm, now I know what everyone is doing with the faster bandwidth at work. 15 million people uploaded their own videos in 2008. This number is expected to grow to 18 million in 2009 and a whopping 27 million by 2013.

Besides just watching videos, advertisers are using more video ads to promote their products. eMarketer’s latest forecast shows online video advertising projected to grow 45% to $850 million in 2009. This may have some thing to do with the fact that there are over 60 video sharing and social video website for you to upload your video to.
